MISSION & OBJECTIVES
MISSION

  • The purpose of the MEDIA Club is to give the opportunity to the students to be creative in media.
  • Using media, students will collaborate together while getting hands-on experience.
  • Using many types of media, the MEDIA Club will benefit the students to know and avoid the negative impact of media on education and transform or change them into positive impact.
  • So that the media can inform, educate, entertain and persuade students in a more responsible manner.

OBJECTIVES

  • To develop communication.
  • To develop an understanding of the effects of mass media on themselves as individuals and also upon society.
  • To build up skills to deconstruct media messages by making them understand the constructed nature of media.
  • To develop skills to encourage the production of creative media messages.
  • To encourage students to express their feelings and thoughts through media messages.
  • To introduce various career opportunities in mass media to the students.
  • To build-up the basic knowledge in preparing programs in channels.

MEETINGS
           Meetings will be held in Last working day of every month, fifth period in morning shift.
The role of a Media club coordinator is to help students to perform the activities which would help students to increase their understanding of mass media. So that the media club planned to conduct meetings in the name of “COMMUNICATION”


COMMUNICATION
In mass media the ability to communicate and comprehend information clearly and effectively is essential. Therefore, before exploring various aspects of media and their role in society, it is necessary to understand the concept of communication.
In the Media clubs students are supposed to engage with the media actively. Mass media as we know includes variety of vehicles like TV, Radio, Newspaper, magazines & new media which are used to communicate with the masses. These are in fact the mode of delivery of messages and are used for effective communication.
Communication with the masses is very important as it involves a very large number of people but communication with the self, with our friends and relatives, with public is equally important. Hence the activities of the Media Club would begin with activities based on communication followed by the activities mentioned below:


TRACKING MEDIA HABITS & PREPARING MEDIA TIME TABLE

  • To develop students in an understanding of the effects of mass media they need to understand their own media habits which includes what they are watching, reading and listening and how media content influence them.
  • Media Diary: Each student of media club will have his/her own Media Diary to record consumption of media messages. The club coordinator will analyze the diary to see the trend in the media habits of COLLEGE students. This will help the students to keep track of their media diet.
  • Each student of media club will be involved in the survey (to be conducted in our DON BOSCO College) to track media habits of our students.
  • The club coordinator along with the Media club students will analyze the data to see the trend regarding media habits of students.
  • The report will be presented in the college assembly. This will act as a guideline for the students to prepare their media timetable.
  • Encouraging students to prepare media timetable.

SEMINAR FOR “WRITE YOUR ARTICLE”

To know and avoid the negative impact of media on education and transform or change them into positive impact so that media can inform, educate, entertain and persuade students in a more responsible manner and Media education is about developing young people’s critical and creative abilities.

TAT – TELLA TALE

This is the open competition for all UG second year students.

 

MEDIA CLUB EXPERIENCE’ SEMINAR
   Date      :  Will be fixed by College (valedictory day of all   clubs)

  • This will be organized at  the end of the year wherein club coordinators and the club members will share their experience of running media club.
  • This will include presentations by the media club coordinator and members.
